Feel the Burn

WOW... I am feeling it today. Yesterday while at Body Slam, Tanya changed the position of the leg press (chest press I guess) to the point where I am further down and appear to be more in a laid out position. When she first told me I was going to do that I figured it was not that big of a deal until I tried to push out the pad. I thought I was moving a ton of bricks. Fortunately, Tanya helped me work through the first couple and the rest went as smoothly as can be expected. I actually made it through all of the reps. After I finished she asked how I was doing and I told her that I definitely felt that one a bit more than normal and he smiled and said, "Well, I did add 20 lbs." I almost passed out. I couldn't believed I actually lifted that much. I would have never set the weights to that level if I were working out on my own.

Its so weird going through this process because I find myself accepting the aches and pains more so now than before, mainly because I know I am working towards a specific goal not to mention the fact that my energy level has increased significantly. I find myself more prepared for my school day and more alert for class in the evening. (I have another story for that one).

Next week is my first weigh in for Body Slam. They try not to get you to focus on weight since it fluctuates so frequently and instead helps you to focus on what you are trying to accomplish. Especially since I can feel myself getting into better shape. I also know that the weight numbers might not be what I think they should be, but I have to keep reminding myself that muscle weighs more than fat and that is a good thing. Normally they do not take measurements each time, but she said she would if I wanted. So I will get some results to post next week sometime.

All I know is that I am feeling good about this workout plan and I am looking forward to the results next week.
